WordPress allows you to create a page for yourself on the internet without any big expenses. You can simply go to the WordPress site and can sign up for creating a page. You can choose a website address for your page and can add a title to the page. Once you finish this process, you have to step into the WordPress theme design process.

Designing a WordPress theme is the process of editing your page in such a way it looks attractive and related to the purpose of the page. You can do this simply by yourself.

Issue

An important issue that comes in the case of WordPress templates is that, they can’t be efficiently viewed in all type of screens in the same way. To get this feature, that is to make your site visible in the same way in all type of screens, you need to convert it into Fluid width.

Follow the instructions and try doing it.

Instructions

  • Find the WordPress theme folder on your computer and open the theme that you have to convert.
  • Find the file with the name ‘style.css’ and open it. You can better open it in Notepad, in some other text editing applications or in web design programs.
  • Once you open it you will have the coding of the template in your front. Making changes in this coding will also create changes in WordPress theme design you have made.
  • Slowly, scroll through the coding and fine the line of code that is labeled ‘Width: 000px’. In some cases, the value in the place of ‘000’ may be different. Now, you need to convert the PX values into percentagevalues.

  • Then, make a decision upon the percentages that you can use. You have to decide the percentage values of three important sections, that is, the header section, the side bar section and the main section. The default value used in case of sidebars is 20%, header section 100% and the main section 80%.
  • Replace the PX values in the coding of the template with the percentage values you choose.
  • Save it and then upload that file to your site. You can see the changes by clicking on the refresh button.
